Senior Information Fair 

An opportunity to get information and resources from a variety or organizations and agencies.

Thursday, June 11, 9 am - 3 pm

Some of the agencies that will attend: Alzheimer's Association, Arthritis Foundation, American Cancer Society, Ann's Place, Banker's Life, Bethel Police, Bethel Public Library, Catholic Charities, CT Legal Services, Danbury Hospital, English Apothecary, Griswold Home Care, Medicare, Regional Hospice, American Senior Resources, Senior Depot, Senior Helpers, State Dept. on Aging, State of CT Judicial System, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Veteran's Benefits, Visiting Angels, Western CT Area Agency on Aging.

Presentations: 10 am Alzheimer's Association; 11 am Medicare & You; 12 Noon State of Ct Judicial System; 12:30 pm Veteran's Benefits; 1 pm Banker's Life; 1 pm English Apothecary

In addition, Danbury Animal Welfare Society will be available all day to introduce you to their new program: Senior animals for Senior Citizens. Seniors may adopt a pet that day as well!


Our Mission

Since 1977 our community's mature citizen, 50 years and older, can find a multipurpose facility at the Bethel Senior Center. It is our mission to provide opportunities for friendship, physical, intellectual, cultural,and social activities; to motivate individual and group participation; to encourage positive attitudes and preserve individual dignity and respect for all older adults.

The Bethel Senior Center offers many different activities and classes:

Exercise: Basketball, Bike Club, Chair Yoga, Circuit Training, Line Dancing, Seniorcise, Square Dancing, TaiChi, Tap Dancing, Walking Club, Yoga, Zumba 

Creative Classes: Art, Crafts, Crocheting, Ceramics, Creative Writing, Knitting, Scrapbooking, Painting, Quilting, Writing Memoirs 

Special Interest: Bible Study, Book Club, Chorus, Computer Class, Drama, Free Movie Mondays, Gardening, Genealogy, Italian Class, Information Technology, Lectures, Live Well Program, Lunch and Learn Programs, Poetry, Positive You, Theater.

Games: Billiards, Bingo, Board Games, Bridge, Canasta, Cribbage, Mah Jong, Poker, Pinochle, Puzzle Making, Rummy.

Parties & Travel: Holiday Parties (Superbowl, Chinese New Year, MardiGras, Victorian Tea, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Summer Barbecue, Grandparents Day, Halloween, Veteran's Day Breakfast, Holiday Shoppe, Holiday Party; Day and Extended Trips.

Services: Elderly Information Service and Assistance, Blood Pressure Clinic, A.A.R.P. Tax Aide, A.A.R.P. Safe Driving Course, Health, Awareness, and Information Seminars, Health Insurance Counseling, Holiday Shoppe, Kathy's Closet (Medical Equipment Loan Service), Lunch everyday,  Meals on Wheels, Tag Sales, Toastmasters, Volunteer Program.
