Mile-A-Minute Invasive Weed
Because this vine has the potential to outgrow and outcompete many of
our native plants, it is important that we work to get it under control.
In areas with small numbers of this plant, we encourage people to pull
it, preferably before it goes to seed. A beneficial insect has been
released in areas with a high MAM vine population as part of a study
being conducted by the University of Connecticut, with assistance from
the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station and funding provided by
the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
