NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Consideration of Deferral of Assessment Ordinance language modification

 

 

Town of Bethel, Connecticut

 

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Selectmen of the Town of Bethel, Connecticut will hold a Public Hearing on September 7, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be hybrid, in person will meet at Clifford J. Consideration of Deferral of Assessment Ordinance language modification:

 

Modify and amend 98-27 A (1) (j):

 "(j)  Mixed-use development,  as defined in 8-13m of the Connecticut General Statutes with the deferred assessment limited to the non-residential aspect of the principal use(s) as set forth in this subsection (1); or use by or on behalf of a health system as defined in 19a-508c of the Connecticut General Statutes."

 

Modify and amend 98-28 B:

 "B.  The EDC shall review each application submitted to it and shall forward each such application to the Selectmen with 60 days of receipt, together with the EDC's report and recommendations concerning whether or not the application meets the eligibility criteria contained in this ordinance.  The EDC in its report may limit its recommendation to the BOS as to what  principal use(s) the applicant should be granted as a deferral as well as the amount of the assessment deferral, and, the number of years the deferral will remain in effect pursuant to the provisions of 98-29 B. (1),  (2) and (3) as hereinafter set forth.  Such report shall include the specific reasons in support of its findings and recommendations set forth herein."

Hurgin Municipal Center, 1 School Street, Bethel, Connecticut and on the Town of Bethel, Connecticut website at www.bethel-ct.gov.  Written comments may be left at the Office of the First Selectman, Clifford J.
