1/1/2022 - Community Newsletter - 1/1/2022

Saturday, January 1, 2022

The town has received the first of what we hope will be several shipments of COVID home test kits and N95 masks. Residents will be able to pick them up on Sunday, January 2nd.
Please be aware that the initial quantities are very limited. We received about half the number of test kits than were originally expected. Please read the information below carefully.

Due to the limited supply, we are prioritizing this first distribution to residents and frontline workers who work directly with the public that are having symptoms of COVID19 or had a known exposure to COVID19.
Please be prepared with identification showing your Bethel address.
There will be a limit of one test kit per household from this distribution.
Please allow those who need a test immediately a chance to get a test from this distribution.
If you are not in need of a test immediately (per the above) or are unable to obtain a test kit today, please continue to check local pharmacies. Supplies are limited, but they are also receiving shipments on a regular basis.

Distribution will be held at the Bethel High School “Junior Parking Lot” (directly across Whittlesey Drive from DeSantis Stadium beginning at 11:00 am. Please use only the Plumtrees Road entrance to the school campus. Please wear a mask when picking up your test kit. Please do not que up early. Bethel police will be on hand to ensure Plumtrees Drive and Whittlesey Drive remain open and accessible.

As you may have heard from recent news reports, the State is still working to obtain additional supplies. We will keep the community informed and will distribute more kits just as soon as they arrive. We thank you sincerely for your cooperation.
